Retail Outlet Clerk – Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel

The Retail Outlet Clerk position provides cashier service in property outlets, (Adaawewinini Waabooyaan Gift Shop and Arcade). Although the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answers phones in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner providing accurate information.
• Greets, demonstrates, and promotes to Guests our strong commitment to providing the best possible experience as well as resolve Guest concerns or issues.
• Maintains a cash drawer with proper cash drop and procedural postings of all sales or billing transactions per shift.
• Cross-promotes or assists in marketing and/or promotional displays, events, or programs.
• Strives to attain sales goals and generate additional sales using up-selling and cross-promotion.
• Communicates congenially with all Guests and investigate what the Guests are seeking.
• Maintains a clean and organized area; restocking and/or reorganizing when needed.
• Cultivates an awareness of safety and security to the property in accordance to existing emergency and safety guidelines as mandated by management.
• Performs reports and daily tasks assigned by the Retail Supervisor.
• Enforce arcade policy and procedures while following the Migizi Circle of Excellence standards.
• Will be responsible for maintaining a clean place of play in the arcade and ensuring that the Guests have an overall positive experience while on property.
• Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Safety Hazards:

Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer operation. Frequent prolonged standing and walking throughout the Waterpark & Hotel. Could exert in physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 50 lbs. Push/pull cart or equipment up to 100 lbs. Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas. Reach 24 inches/2 feet. Working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, indoor/outdoor settings, fume/and odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, and chemicals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

• 18 years of age.
• Successfully pass TIPS Alcohol Management within the first thirty (30) days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
• Pass a pre-assessment math test with an eighty (80) percent or higher.
• Pre-employment background check.

Preferred:

• Native American.
