F & B Service Supervisor
Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel
Assures that Guests of the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel (SEWPH) receive the highest quality levels of food when dining anywhere on the property. Although the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assigns duties, responsibilities, and SOPs to Service Leads and holds foodservice operational staff accountable in their execution of food safety and quality and consistent product preparation, environmental quality and cleanliness, wares stewardship, cash handling, and operational duties.
- Provide proper staffing and support to all F&B locations and events including the Nbakade Restaurant, the Food Court, and any catering activities.
- Responsible for scheduling all service staff employees.
- Participates in all phases of training.
- Maintains all sanitation rules and regulations.
- Keeps all equipment in an as new state, and ensures staff follows this standard.
- Prepares reports detailing the accounting, distribution and reconciliation of revenue.
- Ability to assist in writing menus for Restaurant concept.
- Professional approach with guests and associates.
- Ensures staff levels are consummate with business levels.
- Maintains and execute operations within budget.
- Maintains mandated cost of goods sold, through proper utilization of proper product handling and costing skills.
- Participates in monthly inventory process and resolution of discrepancies.
- Orders supplies and goods as required from established vendors.
- Adjusts staffing levels to appropriate level for business volume.
- Assists in the preparation of and review of departmental budgets including labor and cost of goods sold.
- Responsible for administering and enforcing SEWPH policy and procedure in a fair and equitable manner.
- Responsible for interviewing, reviewing, and dealing with employee issues as needed.
- Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment/Safety Hazards:
Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting. May require walking on wet and slippery floors, and in coolers and freezers. May be exposed to a smoking environment, and moderate noise level. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional hand, finger, and wrist movement associated with computer operation and counting of money. May have to work under high volume stressful situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
- 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two full years of experience in front of the house operations in a full service restaurant.
- Twelve (12) months experience in alcohol service with six (6) months in a leadership role.
- Twelve (12) months front of the house supervisory Food and Beverage experience in a full service environment. Duties need to have included:
- Manager on Duty responsibilities.
- Inventory and supplies ordering
- Must have open availability – Weekends, Holidays, Mornings and Evenings.
- Microsoft Office Skills – Word and Excel at an intermediate level. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Successfully pass TIPS Alcohol Management and ServSafe Food Safety certification courses within the first 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and Tribal driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Native American.
- Micros experience
- Kronos Timekeeper experience
- Associate’s degree in the hospitality, business, or related field.
