For our team in South Africa, we are looking for a Segment Sales Representative focused on Commercial Buildings.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing sales within this segment. You will engage with Consultants, delivering tailored solutions in Low and Medium Voltage Power Distribution, Power Quality and Life Safety solutions.
Your primary objective is to drive sustainable revenue growth through solution-based selling, while ensuring full compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company strategy.
Hybrid working solutions are available for our office in Johannesburg.
Travel rate is up to 75% across South Africa, primarily within the KwaZulu-Natal region.
Sales Strategy & Account Management
• Develop and execute sales strategies targeting the Commercial Buildings sector
• Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within Commercial Buildings environments.
• Manage complex sales cycles involving engineering, procurement, and operations stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, developers, contractors, and facility managers
• Drive early-stage specification of solutions within projects.
• Manage and grow strategic accounts across different phases of the asset lifecycle.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through technical support and after-sales engagement.
Solution Selling
• Understand customer challenges
• Position solutions including MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems and Life Safety.
• Collaborate with technical teams to design compliant and optimized solutions.
• Translate technical requirements into clear value propositions (e.g., uptime, cost savings, safety).
Market Intelligence & Planning
• Monitor sector trends, capital projects, and market developments.
• Track regulatory requirements and competitor activities.
• Maintain accurate forecasts and strong pipeline visibility.
• Support SIOP processes and strategic planning.
Governance & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to safety, electrical, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate CRM data and reporting.
• Follow procurement and tender processes.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Sales revenue and margin growth.
• New project wins and pipeline value.
• Conversion rates and forecast accuracy.
• Customer retention and account growth.
• CRM adoption and data quality.
• Project and customer inventory planning.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business (preferred).
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in sales.
• Strong understanding of Commercial Buildings
• Knowledge of MV/LV systems, Power Quality solutions, Life Safety.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Proven track record in project-based and solution selling.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience working with Consultants.
