Job Description

Role purpose

Take the lead in shaping the next phase of growth for our BlackSea Seeds business across Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria. Building on our recognised market leadership in sunflower-the region’s largest crop-this role offers a highly visible opportunity to make a lasting commercial impact in an innovative business.

This is a highly profile, top-priority market leadership role with full commercial accountability for sales, profitability, market share and organisational capability.

You will lead a team of 100 people and a business of approximately $100m in net sales, with meaningful exposure to regional and global leadership and strong potential for future progression.

Key responsibilities

• Translate regional crop strategies and commercial campaign plans into effective local execution, delivering P&L targets including sales, gross margin, FUCO and EBITDA.
• Shape and optimise go-to-market, channel, key-account and pricing strategies to strengthen market position and profitability.
• Build demand and deepen relationships with farmers, distributors, customers, industry associations, trade bodies and other key market influencers.
• Improve sales forecasting, portfolio performance and commercial decision-making through market insight, data and digital tools.
• Partner across countries and functions-including Marketing, Agronomy, Production & Supply, and R&D-to deliver joined-up commercial plans.
• Contribute actively to the Europe Seeds community, helping to align commercial policies and pricing structures across markets.
• Lead commercial transformation, embedding new processes, tools and ways of working across the organisation.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing commercial organisation.
• Ensure full compliance with commercial policies, local legislation, competition law, and legal, ethical, HSE and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications and required experience
• 10 years’ relevant commercial and leadership experience in a comparable role.
• Agricultural or Seeds-sector experience is desirable; we also welcome candidates from the food industry or another relevant, customer- and channel-driven sector.
• University degree in Agronomy, Business, or related field; MBA is an advantage
• Proven track record of building and developing high-performing commercial (sales) teams, delivering strong commercial and P&L results.
• Strong commercial judgement, financial acumen and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience working effectively in a complex, matrix and cross-functional environment.
• Fluent English and local language (Romanian or Bulgarian)
• Willigness to travel across the Black Sea countries.
