Job Title: Security Support B (Security Officer)

Job Location: Greenville, TX

Job Schedule: 12 hours (Day shift / Night shift)

Provides security services through guarding, patrolling, and monitoring the L3 Harris Greenville facility to protect personnel, property, equipment, and facilities from fire, theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security or safety threats. Conducts routine and random patrols of assigned areas and performs inspections of access points to ensure they are secure. Monitors and conduct routine searches of personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering or departing the premises to prevent unauthorized removal of company or government property.

Inspects equipment, materials, and storage areas for signs of tampering, damage, or other irregularities, and promptly report all incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity in accordance with established procedures. Responds to alarms, medical emergencies, and security incidents, and takes appropriate action to protect life and property. Controls access to facilities and restricted areas by verifying badges, credentials, and authorization for entry.

Maintains a professional presence and enforces site rules, safety requirements, and security procedures at all times. Position will require the carrying and authorized use of firearms in the performance of assigned duties, in accordance with applicable State laws, regulations, training requirements, and company policy.

Essential Functions:

• Must be willing and able to work a rotating schedule, including 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
• Must be able to interact with people of varying importance, multi-cultural customers and personnel.
• Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must be able to be commissioned by the State of Texas to wear a firearm.
• Must be able to routinely pass random drug screening.
• Must be able to work any shift (day or night) weekend / weekday and holidays, along with additional OVERTIME as required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance and all special access required on the facility.

Access control

• Verify credentials, badges, and identification of authorized personnel
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access points
• Prevent unauthorized entry onto the installation or restricted areas

Protection of personnel and property

• Safeguard personnel, visitors, facilities, equipment, or sensitive assets
• Maintain a visible / physical deterrent presence

Patrol duties

• Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of assigned areas
• Inspect buildings, perimeter fencing, gates, and sensitive locations
• Identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, or security violations

Incident response

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and suspicious incidents
• Take appropriate action during security breaches, active threats, fires, or medical emergencies

Use of force / armed response

• Carry and employ issued weapons in accordance with post orders, rules for the use of force under applicable Texas law
• Protect life and defend assigned assets when authorized and necessary
• Maintain weapons qualification and safe weapons handling standards

Detention and enforcement support

• Detain individuals when authorized by law, regulation, or post orders
• Preserve scenes and evidence until law enforcement or internal investigators arrive
• Enforce installation regulations and security procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Demsonstrated experience as a civilian/military security officer or personal private security.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active DoD security clearance is highly desired.
• Previous or ongoing military experience is also highly desired, along with any law enforcement or armed security experience.
