The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing Security Officers during an assigned shift to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, company assets, and gaming operations. This position provides leadership for daily security activities, emergency response, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment throughout the resort.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Operations

  • Supervise, schedule, and deploy Security Officers to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage throughout the property.
  • Monitor daily security operations and provide directions to ensure efficient and effective shift performance.
  • Conduct routine patrols and inspections of casino, hotel, parking areas, and other resort facilities to identify and address safety or security concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including Nevada gaming regulations.
  • Oversee security coverage for special events, promotions, and high-traffic periods.

Safety & Emergency Response

  • Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fires, disturbances, accidents, evacuations, and other critical situations.
  • Direct Security Officers during emergency responses and coordinate with emergency responders as necessary.
  • Ensure proper documentation and follow-up for all emergency situations.

Investigations & Incident Management

  • Investigate accidents, injuries, property damage, thefts, lost property, suspicious activity, and other security-related incidents.
  • Prepare and review detailed incident reports, witness statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Handle guest and team member disputes, disturbances, and other security concerns using sound judgment and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Assist in preserving evidence and supporting investigations when required.

Gaming & Asset Protection

  • Enforce gaming regulations, including identifying and removing underage individuals from gaming areas.
  • Supervise money escorts, chip and currency transfers, and access to restricted or sensitive gaming areas.
  • Protect company assets by identifying security risks and implementing appropriate corrective actions.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to Security Officers.
  • Monitor employee performance, ensure adherence to departmental standards, and recommend corrective action when appropriate.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional guest service.

Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary security contact during the assigned shift.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and regulatory agencies when necessary.
  • Work closely with other resort departments to resolve operational issues and maintain a safe environment for guests and team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in security, preferably within a casino, gaming, hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, investigative, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of security operations, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard security reporting systems.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules up to and including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Registration.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License (or ability to obtain within established guidelines).
  • Alcohol Awareness Card.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain within a designated timeframe.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an entire shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, including running, climbing stairs, and assisting guests or team members when necessary.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
