Role Introduction

This CGS role will manage all aspects of physical security at the Corning sites in Bagneaux-sur-Loing and Avon (Île-de-France Region), with a solid-line report to the CGS EMEA Regional Security Manager, and dotted lines to the respective site leaders.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve the physical security processes and systems that protect Corning’s people and property in Bagneaux and Avon, including access management, perimeter and building security, and the detection, investigation, and resolution of security incidents ;
  • Manage guardforce teams and vendor relationships while validating consistent alignment with Corning Values and CGS standards ;
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with site leaders to anticipate operational requirements, establish funding expectations, and ensure project design and execution conformity with security policies ;
  • Build a positive security culture among all site personnel through effective training and clear expectations, helping to ensure a safe space to invent, make, and sell.

Daily Activities

  • Develop site security plans that assess and mitigate physical threats and vulnerabilities, and support local operations ;
  • Work with the CGS technology team and other stakeholders to ensure proper placement and functioning of all security equipment ;
  • Ensure a robust threat detection and response posture through alarm monitoring and resolution procedures ;
  • Provide oversight and training for badge and visitor management ;
  • Identify and implement quality metrics for security technology, process, and culture, and drive improvements over time ;
  • Ensure the security function’s close alignment with, and support for, crisis planning and emergency management ;
  • Support investigative matters under guidance from Corporate Investigations ;
  • Build and maintain strategic and tactical relationships with area law enforcement and private sector counterparts ;
  • Perform other security-related functions as needed to protect Corning’s, people, property, and interests specifically at Bagneaux and Avon, and generally in France.

Work Hours

  • Standard business hours (M-F) at the Bagneaux and Avon sites, with flexibility to occasionally respond 24/7 for urgent situations. Work-from-home is permitted 1 day/week.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree and at least 4 years’ experience in a security or leadership position, preferably with a multinational corporation, or 2 years’ postsecondary education plus at least 6 years’ experience.

Required Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced fluency in written and spoken French and English, with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written), and a proven ability to guide and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with self-motivation, and to evaluate and improve service quality rigorously over time.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional physical security management training or certification, such as the ASIS CPP.
  • Certification in Basic First Aid or higher.

Travel Requirements

  • Possible occasional travel to other Corning sites in France to assist with security matters, and to Corning or third-party locations in Europe or the U.S. for training or benchmarking purposes.
