HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
Act as Commander in the absence of the Security Manager.
Support the Security Manager in daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, staffing, and equipment requirements.
Review schedules, reports, and shift documentation; make adjustments as needed.
Inspect officers’ appearance, performance, and adherence to departmental standards.
Ensure all officers receive proper training and that safety standards are upheld.
Conduct daily post checks and monitor manpower status boards.
Address and resolve guest or employee complaints and take corrective action when necessary.
Assist the Security Manager with performance evaluations and provide recommendations.
Review, recommend, or initiate appropriate action for policy or rule violations.
Serve as on‑scene Commander for major incidents.
Communicate all pertinent shift or departmental information to management.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all guests and employees.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Ability to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
Ability to walk, stand, and work indoors and outdoors, including temperatures from 10°F to 115°F.
Ability to physically restrain adults over 200 lbs.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis or stressful situations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, and carry heavy loads.
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs and push/pull up to 150 lbs.
Ability to run on level surfaces and up/down stairs
Ability to operate effectively in mentally and physically demanding situations.
Ability to respond to visual and auditory cues and recall detailed information about incidents and individuals.
Ability to make rational decisions when handling guest or employee issues.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
High school diploma preferred.
Five years of law enforcement or military experience preferred.
Casino security experience preferred.
Three years of supervisory experience preferred.
Strong leadership, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare and deliver clear presentations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Virginia Gaming License.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
