ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: What You Will Do 

Reporting to the Security Management Team, the Security Supervisor will lead Security Officers at Barclays Center. This is a part-time, non-union, hourly position. Job responsibilities include:


EVENT SECURITY

  • Uphold the Security Department’s Prime Directives, most importantly our mission to take reasonable steps to protect the safety and security of our venue guests, employees, and assets with respecttowardseveryone’s dignity and legal rights.

  • Resolve escalated security situations andprovideappropriate warningstoguestswho are not in compliance with thevenue'spolicies and procedures.

  • Assistwith directional and informational inquiries.

  • Appropriately document all major/minor incidents.

  • Represent Barclays Center and the Security Department in an exemplary manner.

  • Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problemstosuccessfully perform and direct varied & complex tasks.

  • Perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure.

STAFF SUPERVISION

  • Deploy staff for events. Assignappropriate shifts, breaks, and necessary equipment to execute an efficient event.

  • Train staff in basic guest service and security skills. Activelymonitorstaff interactions with Barclays Center venue guests, clients, artists/athletes, and employees at all events to ensure a safe, secure, comfortable entertainment experience for all.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff. Serve as mentor/coach to all Security employees.

  • Providetimely,appropriate feedbackto staff on performance, both positive andcorrective Effectively communicate escalated employee issues toSecurityManagement Team.

  • Administerappropriate performancereviews, counseling and disciplinary documentations as needed to ensure complianceofBarclays Center company/department policies.

  • Exhibit the ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the entire security team assigned to the deployment.

  • Exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.

24/7 BUILDING SECURITYSUPERVISION (FILL IN)

  • Be able to supervisebuilding’s24/7 posts (Loading Dock, Dean Admin and Command Center).

  • Be able to conductthe department’sdaily inventories as needed.

  • Conductdepartment’sequipment checks (Ex. Hand Wands, radios, CCTV). Contact service providers and vendors to ensure equipment ismaintainedas needed.

  • Assistwith updatingthe department’sStandard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all posts.

  • Knowledge ofthe building’sFire Alarm systems, know how toeffectively and safely evacuate the buildingin a timely manner

  • Knowledge of ISS systems.

  • Knowledge of access control and visitor managementsystem

  • Enforce hourly buildingpatrolconducted by Security Officers.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: Who You Are

  • Candidatesmust be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Mandatory Events.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previoussecurity experience, valid NYS Security Guard Card License and F03 Fire Guard license.

  • Previousexperience working in a similarsports/entertainmentfacility environment preferred or Law Enforcement.

  • At least 1-2year's experiencesupervising and leading subordinates.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure

  • Ability toestablishand maintain working relationships with building personnel, guests, visitors, clients, and vendors.

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and employment verification

  • Must have strong teamwork etiquette.

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in assignment per event.

  • Mustmaintaina high standard of grooming and professionalism.

  • Ability tomaintainpatron, employee, and company confidentiality.

  • Tasks are performed with moderate supervision.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk/stand and climb stairs for more than 4 hours
