Security Strategy & Communications Specialist
Contribute to impactful cybersecurity and business initiatives in the insurance sector while creating executive presentations, strategic communications, and engaging reports. What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $35-40 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $40-45 per hour.
• 12-month contract.
Day schedule, 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid role with 2 on-site days per week in Toronto.
Responsibilities:
• Support the development and expansion of cybersecurity narratives, executive-level communications, reporting, and presentation materials.
• Coordinate and prepare materials for key security forums, including Security Council, Business Unit Risk Committees, CISO forums, and town halls.
• Gather and compile reports and presentation materials for recurring meetings, ad-hoc business narratives, and external speaking engagements.
• Research security trends, emerging technologies, geopolitical shifts, regulatory developments, and evolving risks, and translate findings into business insights.
• Assist in developing the global security strategy with a focus on emerging technologies and alignment with security programs and initiatives.
• Support the development of micro-strategies and business cases related to future strategic investments and return on investment initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentation materials for senior leadership forums and engagements.
• Collaborate with delivery teams, program teams, technical managers, and business stakeholders within a global environment.
What you will need to succeed:
• University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Communications, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent co-op work experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in technology writing and/or business writing.
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including knowledge of the presentation development process from storyboard creation to final delivery and speaker notes preparation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical content into language suitable for senior executive audiences.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify reporting errors and inaccuracies.
• Understanding of storytelling techniques and the ability to craft summaries and narratives related to business rationale, accomplishments, and projects.
• Ability to create engaging visual content and use graphics to communicate key information effectively.
• Strong research, fact-checking, and source verification skills.
• Ability to independently manage initiatives, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team environment.
• Experience supporting executive or senior management communications, workshops, executive reporting, or broad external communications is considered an asset.
