Job Description

The Security Specialist is responsible for providing technical support in development, implementation, and monitoring of the program's Cybersecurity Plan and Processes, to include plans, reports, inspections, training, and related activities.

Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintain cybersecurity plans and processes in accordance with component policies.
  • Supports policy development and planning.
  • Assist in the development of security technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and analyzes the sensitivity of information and reviews vulnerability and risk assessments on the basis of defined sensitivity and information flow.
  • Performs all required testing and documentation submissions required to support RMF processes.
  • Provides cybersecurity functional support for assessments, authorizations, and documentation of fielded systems.
  • Coordinates and provides expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
  • Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
  • Manages incident response functions.
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • Must be detail and safety-oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3+ years related experience in vulnerability scanning & remediation, incident response
  • Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • Clearance Level: Public Trust
