Monitor and protect all company assets, employees, and customers from unauthorized activity. Interface with multiple technology platforms to control access to properties, monitor critical alarms and perform video surveillance from a 24/7 command center, providing safety and security for INTRUST Bank. Perform security and safety patrols and personally interact with employees and the public. Ability to take ownership, exercise good judgement, prioritize activities and be customer focused. Makes on-site decisions and notifies supervision when required. Conflict resolution, critical thinking skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail are essential. Essential Functions: All expectations described in the job description’s essential functions are necessary to be successful in this role, performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Monitors proprietary alarm system for hold up, duress, fire, intrusion, etc.
• Correctly interpret video observations and incoming alarms.
• Communicate often with teammates, leaders, and customers.
• Create accurate and detailed written incident reports.
• Correctly respond to routine and emergency situations at our remotely monitored facilities.
• Prioritize and respond to radio, phone, email, and face to face requests for service.
• Patrols the premises of downtown campus (including exterior perimeter) for fire detection, suspicious persons, safety hazards, unsecured assets, vandalism, trespassers, and any other criminal activity.
• Coordinates with officers to respond to incidents and alarm verification.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of automated security systems.
• Intervenes in hostile situations involving verbal, emotional and/or physical abuse on bank property. This may include handling incidents involving irate customers, employees, domestic disputes, and workplace violence.
• Coordinates and/or assists in emergency situations such as medical emergencies, bank robberies and evacuations due to severe weather, fire, or bomb threats. Mobilize the Emergency Response Team when necessary.
• Remain in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Education and Experience: Two years of security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Requires excellent communication skills; oral and written. Knowledge of security operations. Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment. Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations. Ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and willing to administer aid to sick or injured person. Must be able to participate, meet requirements and obtain certification in personal protection (defense tactics) training and must complete Security training (Defensive tactics, use of force, control holds and escorts, hand cuffing, baton, and chemical spray certified). Must be able to meet qualifications to obtain a private security permit as specified in Wichita Municipal Codes. Must be able to sit, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods of time. Must be available and willing to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. Computer experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access are required.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Current and valid Driver’s License. Serves as a first responder for all emergencies (First Aid/CPR certified). Must be able to participate, meet requirements and obtain certification in First Aid, CPR and personal protection (defense tactics) training and must complete Security training (Defensive tactics, use of force, control holds and escorts, hand cuffing, baton and chemical spray certified). Must be able to meet qualifications to obtain a private security permit as specified in Wichita Municipal Codes.
Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The physical demands necessary for this role should be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions: Office, bank facilities, and outside weather environment. Outdoor patrolling of bank premises and working in areas under construction is required. Must be able to tolerate any possible weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat or cold, snow, rain, etc.).
