Job Description

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity as a Security Specialist 1/2 or 3 at our Headquarters located in Glen Allen, VA or our Cove Point LNG facility located in Lusby, MD.

Security Specialist 1

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company access requirements for employees, contractors, and visitors to assigned facilities.
• Provide consultation and advice to corporate security regarding suitability for contractor employment and access to assigned company facilities.
• Maintain databases to support security programs.
• Manage electronic access control systems.
• Monitor and facilitate response for automated alarm systems at assigned locations.
• Manage emergency notification procedures, in accordance with company and regulatory response plans.
• Control personnel, vehicle, package, and cargo access to assigned company facilities, in accordance with company policy, security procedures, and regulatory responsibilities.
• Coordinate with management to oversee contract guard services at assigned company facilities.
• Serve as primary response for all emergency contingencies at assigned facilities, to include natural disasters and work stoppages.
• Perform Facility Security Officer duties in the absence of the designated Facility Security Officer.

Security Specialist 2 and Security Specialist 3

In addition to the responsibilities of Security Specialist 1:

• Provide leadership in ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements for employees, contractors, and visitor access to assigned facilities.
• Coordinate work assignments and schedules, to manage the day-to-day operations at assigned facility.
• Serve as the Facility Security Officer.
• Conduct internal security audits and inspections as required by maritime regulations.
• Provide consultation and advice to Human Resources and management regarding suitability for contractor employment or access to company facilities.

• Good computer skills, with demonstrated ability to use software applications, including MS Office and access control systems.

• Knowledge of, and experience with providing security at an energy company with a critical infrastructure environment.

• Ability to coordinate processes and provide leadership in team environment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, external customers, and first responders.

• Ability to conduct structured interviews with internal and external customers.

• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.

• Ability to understand and interpret 33CFR 105 maritime regulations.

Security Specialist 1

0-2 years related work experience.

Security Specialist 2

3 years related work experience

Security Specialist 3

5+ years related work experience

Education

Associate (Typically two years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree.)
