The Solution Engineer team within the Microsoft Security organization is at the forefront of this effort, engaging directly with customers to contribute to their success. You will work collaboratively and virtually with the Security Solution Area Specialist to accelerate technical execution of Microsoft's strategic business priorities – selling best-in-class cloud services and platforms to our managed customers and building digital transformation momentum for our customers, partners, and Microsoft.If you have a passion for Security solutions, engaging with technical decision makers, leading sales strategy, and delivering customer satisfaction, we invite you to learn more about the Solution Engineer role. You will spend up to 75% of your work hours a week on qualified customer work – planning and orchestration, preparation, delivering customer requests (technical presentations, demos, trials, POCs, compete positioning, workshops, etc.), 25% on staying sharp on technical, industry and compete expertise.Your primary goal is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our range of security-focused solutions including AI-powered security operations (Microsoft Security Copilot), AI security posture management, extended detection and response (XDR), SIEM, extended security posture management (XSPM), zero trust and multi cloud security.Security is the foundation of every organization's AI transformation. Responsibilities

You will be the primary technical point of contact for potential customers during the sales process, owning and driving technical win for security opportunities.

• Deep technical understanding of Microsoft security architectures, solutions and technologies
• Coordinate weekly with sellers and managers to understand and prioritize opportunities, compete scenarios and engagements to focus on
• Remediate blockers and ensure technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies. Engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently; build credibility with customers as a trusted advisor for Microsoft Security.
• Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client's security posture, shape the technical win plan and tailor Microsoft messaging to the audience for security opportunities.
• Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops and architecture design sessions; explain, demonstrate, and architect the solution to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.
• Demonstrate and oversee proof of concepts, present and apply architecture patterns, prove capabilities and integration into the customer environment, and drive cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for security. Leverage insights and coach teams to align new or changing technology to customer security needs.
• Engage and scale with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle. Engaging partners in sell-with scenarios and supporting their technical capabilities is key to scaling solution delivery.
• Stay sharp and share your knowledge and best practices, enabling further scale and growth for the Security business.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
• OR equivalent experience
• 2+ years' experience with developing and delivering customer demos/proof of concepts for Security across competitive offerings
• Native or business-level Japanese proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience, OR equivalent experience
• 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management
• Experience positioning or deploying AI-powered security solutions such as Microsoft Security Copilot, Microsoft Defender XDR automation, or agentic SOC workflows
• Understanding of securing generative AI workloads and agents (AI security posture management, data protection, identity for agents) and of frameworks such as the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications or the NIST AI Risk Management Framework
• Certification in Microsoft 365 Security Administration or Cloud Security
• One or more industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, etc. is preferred
• Advising Client Technical Decisions: Business Knowledge, Competitive Analysis, Driving Insight-Led Conversations, Strategic Technical Planning, Technology Industry Knowledge
• Demonstrating Microsoft Solution Capabilities: Cloud Security, Formal Presentation Delivery and Storytelling, Microsoft Products, Pilots and Proof of Concepts (PoCs), Product Demonstration, Third Party Applications
• Readiness for Deployment: Architecture Design, Problem Solving, Quality Assurance, Troubleshooting
