The Security Engineering team at ByteDance builds and operates the core systems that protect one of the world's largest internet platforms and its global user community. Responsibilities
- Build and iterate on threat detection, prevention, and response (TDR) systems for large-scale platforms, critical infrastructure, and globally distributed endpoints.
- Support the security of LLM-based systems and AI agent systems by identifying attack surfaces, developing defensive mechanisms, and improving safe deployment.
- Contribute to rapid exploration in LLM and AI agent security through prototyping, evaluation, security analysis, machine learning, and AI agentic approach.
- Develop, test, deploy, and improve distributed security systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and scalability.
- Work with cross-functional teams to translate product and security needs into engineering solutions and deliver impactful security capabilities.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $128000 - $316800 annually.
