Job Description
The Security Shift Lead is responsible for supervising security operations during assigned shifts to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets. This role provides on-site leadership to security officers, monitors surveillance systems, enforces policies and procedures, and serves as the primary point of contact for incidents during the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and support security officers during assigned shifts
- Ensure all security protocols, post orders, and procedures are followed
- Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems and security equipment
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner
- Prepare and submit detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift summaries
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, communication, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with management, clients, and local authorities when necessary
- Train and mentor security officers on procedures, equipment, and customer service standards
- Enforce access control policies and verify credentials as required
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous security experience required; supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm monitoring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid security guard license
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience with incident management or emergency response procedures
Work Schedule
- Must be available to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
