Seeking an experienced Security Service Specialist to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom, and fire alarm systems for an established customer base. The ideal candidate has strong networking knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting team members.
Responsibilities
- Service and repair electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion, intercom, and fire alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot system and network-related issues using technical documentation and manufacturer support.
- Build strong customer relationships and provide system training when needed.
- Document service activities, including photos and videos of repairs.
- Complete small system additions and upgrades.
- Determine warranty, maintenance, and billable repair status and communicate costs to customers.
- Install and repair wiring and conduit in compliance with NEC standards.
- Read blueprints, system drawings, and specifications.
- Use testing tools such as multimeters, cable testers, and toners.
- Mentor less experienced technicians.
- Submit daily and weekly service reports.
- Participate in on-call rotations and work overtime as needed.
- Travel up to 20%.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience installing or servicing electronic security systems.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, IP addressing, PoE switches, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with security platforms such as:
- Access Control: Open Options, Software House, AMAG, S2, Kantech, Brivo
- CCTV: Exacq, Milestone, Avigilon, Video Insight
- Fire Alarm: Fire-Lite, EST, Simplex, Vigilant, Autocall
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain NC Alarm Registrant license within 30 days of hire.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Current manufacturer certifications in access control, CCTV, and/or intrusion systems.
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electronic Trade School education.
- Industry certifications such as NICET, Lenel, Brivo, Open Options, S2, Software House, Kantech, or AMAG.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders, in equipment rooms, and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and perform field service work throughout the day.
