The Security Service Flex Technician is responsible for performing service, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems while also remaining flexible to work in the branch with technical or parts support. The technician ensures systems operate properly, meets customer expectations, and supports compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
Assist with technical and administrative support in the branch if not working at customer sites.
Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements
Travel to job sites as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Texas Security License required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in security, fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.
Use of hand tools and testing equipment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
