Performs all required duties in a courteous and professional manner. The Security Resource Specialist will be the first contact of visitors entering Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The Security Resource Specialist will identify visitors through forms of photographic state identification cards (i.e. drivers licenses), will ensure that visitors are issued adhesive passes and direct visitors to affix the pass on their outermost garment. The Security Resource Specialist will direct visitors to locations within NGMC and will be responsible for allowing access into both secure and non-secure areas. The Security Resource Specialist will act as information gatherers and report directly to the Security Supervisor any violations of criminal law, NGHS policies, or any breach of security within their assigned post.
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Experience: Background in customer services and/or reception.

Preferred Experience: Law enforcement, corrections or security background and/or two (2) years of experience in assisting sworn personnel in performing non-sworn municipal law enforcement duties.

The ability to learn and perform basic computer skills
Must display a calm/professional demeanor and utilize verbal de-escalation techniques in situations involving agitated persons
Must be adaptable to changing situations

Presents a professional image and attitude
Serves as a first contact for visitors entering Northeast Georgia Medical Center or assigned NGHS facility at an assigned post.

Direct visitors to locations within NGMC and allows access into secure and non-secure areas as appropriate.
Acts as surveillance and observer/reporter within high traffic areas; reports violations of criminal law, NGHS policies, or any breach of security within their assigned post to the Security Supervisor.
Serves as a customer service professional; answers information inquiries and provides direction in accordance with NGHS Core Values.
Maintains a highly professional attitude (verbally and physically) and exhibits the ability to engage in professional interaction with patients, visitors, and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Answers incoming telephone calls to assigned department.
