Roles & responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SOC L1 Analyst to join our Cyber Security Operations team. The SOC L1 Analyst will serve as the first line of defense for monitoring, detecting, triaging, and escalating security events and incidents. The role involves continuous monitoring of security alerts, conducting initial investigations, documenting findings, and escalating confirmed threats to L2/L3 analysts for further remediation.
Note : Candidate must be willing to do 24x7 rotational shift (Mandatory requirement for this role)
Educational Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
•Diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Security may be considered with relevant experience.
Experience Requirements:
•Minimum 2 years of experience in Security Operations, Cybersecurity Monitoring, IT Security, Network Operations, and/or IT Support roles.
•Relevant internship or hands-on SOC experience will be an added advantage.
•
The Ideal Candidate Will
•Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, EDR, network, cloud, and security monitoring tools.
•Perform initial analysis and triage of security alerts to determine severity and impact.
•Investigate suspicious activities, anomalous behavior, and security incidents following established procedures and runbooks.
•Escalate confirmed security incidents to L2/L3 analysts with complete and accurate documentation.
•Have exposure remediating security incidents or connecting with end users to perform cleanup and remediation tasks per SOP.
•Perform event correlation and log analysis across multiple security platforms.
•Monitor email security, endpoint security, firewall, IDS/IPS, and cloud security alerts.
•Support incident response activities by gathering evidence and providing initial findings.
•Maintain incident records, investigation notes, and ticket updates within established SLAs.
•Assist in identifying false positives and improving alert quality.
•Participate in shift handovers and ensure proper documentation of ongoing investigations.
•Contribute to the continuous improvement of SOC processes, playbooks, and knowledge bases.
•Stay current on emerging cyber threats, attacker techniques, and security best practices.
