About the role

We are looking for Relief Security Officers to work at Homes Victoria sites spread across Melbourne. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
• Provide assistance to residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Enforce property rules and regulations to maintain order.
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV and alarm systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and write reports to ensure security and safety equipment is functioning properly.
• Ability work across all sites of Homes VIC
  

Skills & experience

• Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently and prior experience working in a challenging environment
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Working with children check (or willing to apply for one)
• Valid Security Licence and First Aid and CPR
• Full Australian working rights
• Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
• Excellent observational and surveillance skills.
• Ability to operate security equipment and systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to report incidents clearly and accurately.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
