Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care.

Security Officer Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Campus Police & Security Manager, the Security Officer ensures that the health center is a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff. This position is responsible for patrolling the health center to ensure that no potential threats to the safety of the patients and staff exist; provide education and leadership to health center employees, while providing exceptional customer service; investigate incidents/crimes and handle appropriately including related paperwork; and enforce health center traffic and safety regulations.

Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour*

* The pay range represents HealthFirst’s good faith estimate for this role at the time of posting, in compliance with applicable laws. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and budget considerations. Candidates with less direct experience may be placed at the lower end of the range, while those with more significant or specialized experience may be considered at the higher end.

Required Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Minimum of 1 year experience in law enforcement or security is required.
  3. Duties require crisis prevention, conflict resolution, and familiarity with Massachusetts General Laws regarding health care safety and security. Knowledge of healthcare environment is a plus. Experience in healthcare security operations preferred.
  4. Must submit a CORI Release Form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
  5. Strong computer knowledge. Working knowledge of building alarm, access control and CCTV systems.

HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. in Fall River, MA began as a Model Cities Program in 1971 in response to a need for accessible medical and dental care expressed by residents. The City of Fall River provided strong support for this program and its name was subsequently changed to the Community Development Service Center.

The Center has served three generations of families.
