Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. General - Responsible for learning to:

    • Deal with high-volume customer interactions and be consistently outgoing, upbeat, and cheerful.

    • Build guest relations throughout every shift by talking with customers, making them feel welcome and comfortable, and inviting them back.

    • Provide superior guest service, positively affect interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.

    • Assist in transporting money and chips.

    • Control access to restricted areas.

    • Respond promptly and appropriately to customer and team member incidents and accidents. Write reports.

    • Monitor customer and team member passage in and out of casino.

    • Check for and reporting safety hazards.

    • Answer all calls promptly and professionally.

    • Participate in routine drills as assigned.

    • Have complete knowledge of all casino events and promotional activities, and assist as needed.

    • Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner.

    • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and Company policies in an ethical manner and empower and require others to do the same.

    • Handle routine customer complaints and incidents, and exhibit the appropriate discretion to identify situations requiring the attention of supervisory personnel - seek to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts and work locations may change.
    • Assist in maintaining a spotless casino by disposing of any cups, glasses, bottles, or other items left on the floor by guests.

    • Perform other duties as assigned or reasonably requested by any member of management.

  1. Operating Principles: Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to: Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine; Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures; Friendly – Use customer courtesy skills of Family Style Service to provide superior guest service; Fun – Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards.

  2. Tools and Technology Two-way radio, handheld ID scanner, keywatcher, manual and electric wheelchairs, emergency jump bag, telephone and PBX, security vehicles for approved drivers, and desktop computer.

  3. Communication Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).

  4. Licensure Must be able to obtain and maintain a 1055 Slot/Cardroom/Pari-Mutuel Individual Combo Slot License. Must be at least 21 years of age. Acquire and maintain CPR/AED certification.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience: A high school diploma or GED equivalent. One year experience in security (preferred).

  2. Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective public safety operations for the security of people, data, property, and institutions. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  3. Skills: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Talking to others to convey information effectively. Monitoring/Assessing performance of oneself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   1. Physical Demands: Required to stand and walk, and to talk and hear for a majority of the work shift (up to 10 hours). The team member will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; to reach with hands and arms; and to bend, kneel, or stoop. The team member must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and up to 250 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  2. Work Environment: The team member is within a casino environment, exposed to bright flashing lights, noise, smoke and varied temperatures. Use of elevator and stairs. A kitchen environment with a variety of workstations and storage areas, exposed to varied temperatures, smoke, steam, noise, and wet areas. May also work in a banquet/showroom environment with varied noise levels and temperatures, wet areas, and exposure to low-level lights. May also be required to work in an outdoor environment, exposed to varied weather conditions and in proximity to horses.
  • Proactively identify and respond to emergency situations including in-progress acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, explosive incidents, natural disasters and a wide range of issues posing a hazard to lives and/or property using the appropriate escalation of force by following established protocols.
  • Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.
  • Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocols for reporting injuries.
  • Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow supervisory instructions promptly and effectively, particularly during critical incidents such as active shooter or assault situation.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a current valid Nevada Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming License.
  • Ability to obtain a Conceal and Carry Weapons permit issued by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (Required) or HR218 LEOSA.
  • Must obtain a Nevada alcohol awareness card.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
  • Creditable experience; as a law enforcement officer or through service as a military police officer. A military special operations team as an operator specializing in counterterrorism or dignitary protection or in other work such as a Special/Security/ Police Officer (SPO) that provided the required knowledge and skills of law enforcement operations, practices, techniques, and judicious use of force, to include active assailant response and firearms tactics.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have graduated from an accredited law enforcement academy or comparable course of instruction.
  • Experience in making decisions based on the application of experience, training, directions, rules, regulations, and laws and involved in maintaining order and protecting life and property.
  • Documented experience in use of force decision making in a public facing capacity.
  • Working knowledge in investigations possesses investigative and analytical skills.
  • Must be tactful, professional, maintain confidence, and foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate behavior by co-workers, handle all situations honestly and integrity.
  • Able to communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public through oral and written words.
  • Must be able to assume a role of authority as necessary in a high-risk crisis, exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, review facts, weigh options, delegate responsibility, and empower associates to make decisions, provide constructive feedback.
  • Must show respect and be able to adapt to different values, cultures, or backgrounds when dealing with difficult people or situations. Build and maintain long-term associations based on trust and helping others.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Must attend and pass all recurring mandatory legal, tactical, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, firearms and other training as a condition of continued employment.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Set an example and be a role model / leader for all security personnel through observance of all departmental policies and procedures.
  • Must be “team centered" and promote a positive work environment.
  • Must work well with other departments and management as necessary.

  • Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene and may wear the appropriate attire as required for the assignment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Candidates are required to successfully complete the required training, maintain an appropriate level of physical fitness, firearms proficiency, and tactical training. Subject to successful completion of all parts of required training.
  • Must pass the physical and written testing of the Las Vegas Region Security Academy (Caesars Officers Defense Education System, Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, OC Gel certification and Expandable Baton) within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Must become Red Cross CPR/AED certified and meet standards on the Caesars CPR Simulation evaluation.
  • Must qualify and maintain certification in firearms and other specialized gear as mandated by federal, state or local law as well as Caesars internal firearms standards.
  • Ability to physically engage with a person who is threatening others.
  • Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, also be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
  • Must be willing to wear a body worn camera during security events.
  • Ability to move from location to location at appropriate speeds.
  • Ability to carry or move another individual, including one who may be injured.
  • Must be able to physically restrain individuals when conditions of arrest exist.
  • Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes at a heat of more than 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and, also, remember the specific details of incidents and people.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
