!! Allied Universal is hosting walk-in open interviews for security officer positions for Northwestern Memorial Hospital Downtown Chicago !! Open interview day on Thursday June 4th, 2026 from 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM Address: Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile 633 N St Clair St, Chicago, IL 60611 'Ohio' Room Ideal candidates have experience working in a high-tempo hospital environment and are comfortable working with transient and inebriated populations Pay Range: $19.80 / hour - $23.30 / hour $2 more an hour for working overnight shift! PSO - Start at $19.80 / hour and receive an increase to $21.80 / hour upon completion of weapons detection training certification. ED - Pay Rate: $21.30 / hour and increases to $23.30 / hour after receiving a certification in weapons detection training. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance. Dress Code: Business Casual / Business Professional To facilitate a successful interview process at the event, we encourage all attendees to bring a printed copy of their resume, their PERC (if applicable), and 20-hr security training certificate (if applicable) Candidates MUST be at least 21+ years of age Candidates MUST be willing to have a yearly flu shot and certain vaccines up to date Candidates MUST be able to wear required personal protective equipment on their face per CDC guidelines

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)
• Transport patients to the morgue, as needed
• Assist in escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; ensure only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and that no contraband or hospital items are brought in or out
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• Must be at least 21 years of age, or higher required by the state
• Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills
• Active listening skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
• Write informatively, clearly, and accurately
• Attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter fie
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
