The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the primary trainer and direct supervisor for all newly hired Security Officers during their training period. This role has the greatest impact on shaping new Officers, ensuring all duties align with Caesars Entertainment policies and mission. Additionally, the FTO may act as a supervisory resource when a Security Shift Manager or Supervisor is not available.
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
Maintain Dual Role
Continue performing Security Officer duties while training and supervising assigned trainees; be prepared to assume full floor responsibilities as needed.
Supervision
Act as the immediate supervisor for trainees, addressing and correcting mistakes during training; serve as a vital link in the chain of command by passing information up and down appropriately.
Teaching
Lead by example and provide instruction in the field under real conditions, as well as in classroom settings using lesson plans and visual aids; ensure adherence to company
and department policies at all times.
Evaluation
Assess trainee performance and determine if learning objectives are met; identify when remedial training is necessary.
Counseling
Assist trainees with problem-solving, including personal issues when appropriate; maintain confidentiality and escalate concerns to Security Shift Management when needed.
Staffing Support
Participate in staffing-related duties such as reorganizing program functions for special events, teaching assignments, or other departmental improvements.
Inspection
Inspect trainee uniforms and equipment for compliance with company standards; approve job tasks and paperwork.
Information Dissemination
Ensure trainees receive and record all necessary information and maintain accessibility of these records upon request.
Role Model
Demonstrate professionalism, positive attitude, and adherence to all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; set a high standard for trainees to emulate.
Recommendation
Provide initial recommendations regarding trainee progress, including graduation from phases, remedial training, or termination considerations; escalate substandard performance to management.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Must be 21 years of age or older
High school graduation or equivalent is required
2 to 3 years security experience preferred
Proficient in English verbal and written
Must have valid Nevada Driver’s License
Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Registration Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card (AES/TAM), First Aid & CPR certifications
Must present a well-groomed appearance.
Must undergo eight (8) hours of ASP (baton) training
Successful completion of the Training Academy is required
Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays
Teaching and/or training background preferred
Computer knowledge and skills required
Neat, professional appearance with good personal hygiene
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Perform Security Officer Duties
Assume all duties of a Security Officer as needed while training and supervising trainees.

Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to all company and department policies; maintain an attitude and behavior beyond reproach.
Equipment Accountability
Ensure all equipment issued to trainees is serviceable and accounted for; report issues to Security Shift Management.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete and submit all trainee performance paperwork, reports, and correspondence accurately and on time to Security Shift Management.
Communication & Dispatch
Answer telephones using proper etiquette and dispatch calls to appropriate departments.
Performance Monitoring
Continually evaluate trainees for alertness, appearance, and proper performance of duties.
Complaint Handling
Review and forward guest or employee complaints regarding Security personnel; report findings to Security Shift Management.
Remedial Training
Provide additional training to Security Officers as directed by management.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Promote a positive work environment, share credit with team members, and work effectively with other departments and management.
Professional Conduct
Maintain confidentiality, foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate behavior, and handle all situations honestly and tactfully.
Communication Skills
Communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public; read and interpret complex information; actively listen and respond appropriately.
Crisis Management
Assume authority during high-risk situations, exercise sound judgment, delegate responsibilities, and provide constructive feedback.
Cultural Sensitivity & Respect
Adapt to diverse values and backgrounds; build trust and maintain long-term professional relationships.

Maintain high standards under pressure; ensure accuracy, test new methods thoroughly, and reinforce excellence.
Physical Requirements
Ability to restrain individuals when necessary.
Respond calmly in crises and make rational decisions.
Perform physical tasks: stooping, bending, jumping, twisting, crouching, gripping, carrying heavy loads, and maneuvering quickly.
Lift up to 60 lbs; push/pull up to 150 lbs.
Work indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures (10°F to 115°F).
Tolerate secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
Observation & Reporting
Maintain strong observation skills; recall details of incidents and individuals; write detailed reports and provide court testimony when required.
Language & Testing
Read, write, speak, and understand English; pass physical and written testing at the Security Academy within 90 days of employment.
