We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Winchester

💷 Pay: £13.45 per hour

🕒 Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Nights)

⏰ Hours: 17:00 - 05:00

As a Security Officer at a major research and development laboratory and cloud data centre, provide excellent customer service while protecting employees, visitors, property, and assets. A Security Officer must uphold the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism, ensuring all site procedures and client requirements are met. The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Protection of Property & Premises

• Prevent unauthorised access and monitor security systems.
• Patrol internal and external areas as instructed.
• Manage traffic and parking restrictions.
• Conduct security equipment checks.
• Control keys, locking/unlocking, and access passes.
• Maintain logs and records.
• Handle lost property in line with procedures.

Health & Safety

• Support staff, visitors, and contractors while safeguarding the premises.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and report incidents.
• Keep emergency routes clear and equipment accessible.
• Report shortages of first aid supplies.
• Notify the Security Operations Centre (SOC) of emergencies.
• Investigate fire alarm activations.

Requirements

✅ Valid SIA Licence

✅ Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends

✅ Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work history

✅ Strong written and spoken English communication skills

✅ Previous security experience preferred

✅ Excellent attention to detail

✅ Physically fit and able to complete long patrols

✅ Good report writing and incident reporting skills
