We’re Hiring: Security Officer!

📍 Location: Basildon, SS14 4EL
💰 Pay: £39,945.70 per annum
📅 Hours: 56 hours per week: Working 7 days on, 3 days off, days & nights

As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in protecting people, property, and assets while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working in line with site procedures and customer requirements, you will maintain a safe and secure environment, demonstrating the highest standards of integrity, vigilance, and professionalism at all times🛡️

The role as a Security Officer includes conducting internal and external patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling site access, issuing visitor passes, managing keys, and carrying out locking and unlocking duties. You will also maintain accurate records, support traffic and parking management, perform routine equipment checks, and respond appropriately to security incidents, lost property, and other site-related issues.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions
• Provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC)
• Full UK driving licence
• Previous security, customer service, military or emergency services experience is desirable
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow security procedures
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
