Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and company property. This position supports facility security operations through access control, security monitoring, patrols, incident response, and customer service. The Security Officer serves as a key resource in protecting company assets, enforcing site policies, and responding to emergencies and security-related incidents.

This role may require being onsite Sunday - Saturday. More information to be discussed throughout the interview process.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Access Control & Security Monitoring

  • Monitor access control systems, surveillance cameras, and security operations from the CSC Headquarters security desk.

  • Control facility access by verifying identification and issuing employee, contractor, vendor, visitor, loaner, and replacement badges.

  • Process badge terminations, access changes, and security requests.

  • Troubleshoot badge access and security system issues.

  • Provide professional customer service and assistance to employees, visitors, and contractors.

  • Support facility readiness activities during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Patrol & Facility Security

  • Conduct regular interior and exterior foot and vehicle patrols of CSC Headquarters facilities.

  • Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and security concerns.

  • Ensure facilities, doors, gates, and designated areas are properly secured.

  • Unlock designated parking lots and support operational readiness activities.

Incident Response & Reporting

  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, and other incidents.

  • Notify Facilities, Security, and On-Call personnel of emergencies, including water leaks, smoke conditions, fire or police activity, and other facility issues.

  • Investigate incidents and prepare accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.

  • Enforce company policies, security procedures, and site regulations.

  • Maintain professionalism and sound judgment during emergency situations.

YOU HAVE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 2-3 years of security experience.

  • Valid security license or certification as required by state or local regulations.

  • Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions in rapidly changing situations.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or related fields.

  • Experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, and incident reporting.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including email and report writing.

  • Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment

  • Position requires indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

  • Frequent standing, walking, and vehicle patrols throughout the shift.

  • May require working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and responding to emergency situations.

  • Ability to respond quickly to incidents and security concerns across multiple facilities.
