We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Winchester, UK

💰 Pay: £13.45 Per hour

📅 Hours: 42 Hours 4 on 4 off Nights

A cloud-based data centre with a long-standing reputation for research, development, and innovation since the 1950s, contributing to significant advances in computing, including pioneering developments in speech and colour computer technology. The facility provides clients with a secure environment to test software, develop proof-of-concept and proof-of-technology solutions, and collaborate with specialists on industry best practices. As a Security Officer, the primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and assets by following Assignment Instructions and site procedures. A Security Officer plays a vital role in protecting people, property, and sensitive information while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional presence at this prestigious technology site. The Security Officer must remain vigilant, respond effectively to incidents, enforce security policies, and uphold the highest standards of safety, security, and professionalism. An SIA Licence is required for the role.

Note, this role requires you to have the following:

• Must be working towards a valid SIA Licence
• UK driving licence (essential) and transport (desirable)
• Minimum 2 years security officer experience
• Able to obtain SC clearance

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

• Protect site, assets, and people through patrols, CCTV monitoring, and access control.
• Follow Assignment Instructions and maintain accurate incident logs.
• Enforce site safety and security procedures professionally.
• Support health & safety: report hazards, assist with evacuations, respond to alarms.
• Help prevent loss, theft, and damage; report suspicious activity.
• Operate security equipment and follow “stop and search” policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional appearance.
• Handle calls, assist visitors, and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Support management and uphold company values: Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Must be working towards a valid SIA Licence.
• Right to work in the UK and age 18+, no criminal convictions.
• Five-year checkable work history, no criminal convictions.
• UK driving licence (essential) and transport (desirable).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, able to work independently or in a team.
• Able to work varied shifts including nights/weekends.
• Uphold company values of Integrity, Vigilance, Helpfulness.
• Previous security officer experience (2 years)
• First Aid qualification
