We’re Hiring: Security Officer (12 Months FTC)

📍 Location: Trowbridge, UK

💰 Pay: £13.39 per hour

📅 Hours: Shift pattern: 60 hrs Monday to Friday (DAYS) 06:00-18:00

A great opportunity has opened for a professional Security Officer to join our team at a corporate working studio in Trowbridge. This is a night-shift position supporting a calm, professional environment with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and vigilance.

We are looking for a reliable and professional Security Officer to join our team, providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients. This role involves patrolling, access control, incident reporting, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

Responsibilities

Protection of Property and Premises

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site as a Security Officer Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions as required.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
• Deal with lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions as a Security Officer

Health and Safety

• Provide support, guidance, and information to all staff, visitors, and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices to supervisor/manager. Report and record all accidents in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes are always kept clear.
• Report any usage of First Aid equipment and shortfalls in the contents of First Aid boxes.
• Notify the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) in the event of any emergencies and follow the instructions given.
• Investigate the cause of all fire alarm activations as a Security Officer

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• SIA Licence is Essential
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Clean criminal record.
• Five‑year checkable employment history.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Punctual, reliable, and flexible with shifts (days/nights/weekends).
• Full UK driving licence and own transport (desirable but not essential).
• Previous security experience.
• First Aid qualification.
