Job Description

Primary Function

Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Hospital staff, patients and visitors as well as ensuring the physical security of all Hospital buildings and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with visitors, patients and staff in a professional courteous manner. Observes and enforces all hospital policies, rules and regulations.
  • Observes visitors and patients. Manages any unusual circumstances or difficulties. Maintains visitor control inside and outside of the hospital.
  • Assists with Codes and Stats. Restrains patients when needed and monitors for future disturbances.
  • Conducts routine door checks.
  • Maintains logs and reports.
  • Monitors cameras and alarms as needed. Follows emergency procedures for bomb threats, code 99 or helicopter pad landings.
  • Makes emergency deliveries or pick-up of medication, organs and blood.
  • Provides vehicle transportation for patients, visitors and employees as required.
  • Uses proper judgment and knowledge of established practices and procedures when addressing problems or issues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

  • High School or GED Preferred
  • Minimum 6 Months to 1 Year of job-related experience, preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required
