Performs a wide range of duties to insure the safety and security of the Hospital and its patients, visitors, physicians, employees, and others, as well as the property of same, ensuring that all responsibilities are performed in strict accordance with Hospital and/or Departmental Policies at all times.
Provides Hospital wide security as outlined by and in adherence to Hospital/Departmental Policies and Procedures
Assists in maintaining the safety of the hospital and its employees, patients, visitors, and others
Ensures the safety and security of all Hospital grounds
Directs vehicular traffic as needed on Hospital property in order to maintain a safe environment in accordance with Hospital and Departmental Policies at all times.
Patrols all Hospital parking areas and grounds to ensure the safety and security of said areas at all times, in accordance with Departmental Policies and observed on Daily Reports.
Provides all Security Department duties as outlined by departmental policies and procedures
Monitors and witnesses the removal of patient valuables from the admitting safe when requested as outlined in the Hospital Policies and Procedures Manual with documentation on Daily Reports as well as in the valuables log.
Provides assistance in inclement weather as outlined in departmental policy and procedures, noting all such services performed in Daily Reports. (i.e. Assistance could be given to jump start a dead battery for a patient, visitor or staff member’s vehicle, assisting the snow removal company in controlling traffic flow to designated areas of the lot during snow emergencies, etc.)
Responds to all “Team Controls” and performs all duties as requested 100% of the time
Provides security duties in “Code Red” situations as outlined by Hospital Policy or as directed.
Performs all security-related duties associated with the Hospital Internal Emergency Management Manual at all times.
Ensures that pertinent information is passed to the relief Officer at change of shift.
Maintains a smoke-free zone at areas designated no smoking by the facility and gives direction to an acceptable area for smoking.
Maintains post one (security office) when assigned, views CCTV observation equipment, assumes all switchboard duties.
Performs one on one (Constant Patient Observations) when requested to do so by clinical staff.
Ensures department standards regarding quality of service are maintained
Attends department in-service programs and/or department staff meetings on a regular basis, in order to participate in the exchange of information, thereby fostering good intradepartmental communications and assuring quality of service is maintained.
Participates in educational activities that meet one’s educational needs as approved by the Security Manager.
Maintains all appropriate department records and reports to ensure accuracy and expeditious retrieval of information
Ensures completion of all Incident Report forms providing all information as objectively and accurately as possible.
Provides a completed Daily Report at the end of each shift documenting all duties performed during the shift and noting as necessary or required any other information.
Reviews and initials all posted materials.
Reviews all dept. Bolo’s as well as mox email during each shift.
Follows all organizational and departmental policies and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others
Uses proper body mechanics.
Follows outline of standard precautions and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Identifies potentially unsafe conditions and takes initiative to correct the condition in order to prevent injury.
Demonstrates knowledge of the Hospital’s Fire Regulations and Disaster Procedures.

Pay Range:
$18.50 - $24.90
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
