Examples of duties

The Security Officer 1 helps protect Warren State Hospital by enforcing safety policies, monitoring activity, and responding to routine and emergency situations. This role supports a secure hospital environment for patients, employees, and visitors. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Safety Response: Assist in fire alarms, escort emergency personnel, and complete bomb threat procedures
  • Policy Compliance: Follow operating instructions, policies and procedures, and emergency plans
  • Traffic Control: Direct and manage parking and vehicle movement on campus
  • Patrol Duties: Perform desk work, monitor visitors, answer calls, and patrol interior and exterior areas
  • Incident Reporting: Document activities, complete reports, and conduct investigations when required
  • Search Procedures: Conduct searches of individuals and property as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, rotating days off, with a paid 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
