Job Description

Security Manager, India

Millennium is a global, diversified alternative investment firm, founded in 1989, which manages $87 billion in assets. Defined by evolution, innovation and focus, Millennium's mission is to deliver high-quality returns for our investors. Millennium seeks to empower talented professionals with the sophisticated expertise, resources and technology to pursue a diverse range of investment strategies across industry sectors, asset classes and geographies.

We currently have a vendor-provided Security Manager covering India through SIS India (sisindia.com), based in Bangalore. Beyond this individual, we are relying on building-provided security for access control.

Scope of Remit:

Mumbai — Single office location, fewer than 100 employees

  • Hiranandani Knowledge Park, Technology Street, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai 400076 (Unit 1102, 11th Floor).

Bangalore — Two office locations, 700+ employees (current projections)

  • Sobha Church Street, Unit 401, 4th Floor, Municipal No. 41 & 42, Bangalore 560001, Karnataka

  • Level 11, Canberra Tower, UB City, No. 24 Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore 560001, Karnataka

Staff Profile: Predominantly core services functions (technology, HR, operations, finance, compliance)

What We Are Looking For:

The successful candidate will be a self-directed security professional who can operate with a high degree of independence while maintaining tight integration with our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). We are looking for someone who understands the GSOC as a centralized function — not a help desk — and who engages proactively, follows established processes, and closes the loop without being chased.

Core Differentiators:

Physical Security & Access Control

  • Deep expertise in physical security fundamentals: guard service management, access control implementation, and compliance with global security standards.

  • Experience managing security buildouts, break/fix activities, and vendor coordination — reducing reliance on managed office providers (TableSpace, The Executive Centre).

  • Serves as primary local point of contact with security integrators; coordinates repair and verification with local CSRE and TS/TEC teams.

Program Integration & GSOC Alignment

  • Understands where the GSOC sits in the escalation chain and engages accordingly — proactively, not reactively.

  • Provides complete information upfront (HR approvals, justifications, badge data); does not create workarounds or route requests through side conversations that bypass GSOC tracking.

  • Keeps GSOC informed of local developments — staffing changes, contact updates, nearby incidents, regulatory shifts, building issues — without waiting to be asked.

  • Confirms when local actions are complete so GSOC can update records and stand down.

Executive Presence & Cross-Functional Effectiveness

  • Comfortable operating in a corporate environment with cross-functional partners (Facilities, HR, IT, Finance, Compliance).

  • Proactively identifies and escalates physical safety and security concerns rather than responding reactively.

  • Acts as a force multiplier for the Global Head of Security — carrying through crisis management and business continuity capabilities to support local operations.

  • Capable of supporting special events and VIP visits.

Local Intelligence & Relationships

  • Established relationships with local law enforcement and a network of security peers.

  • Strong working relationships expected across: Facilities Manager, Head of HR, Senior Office Manager(s), Head of Finance, Head of Compliance, Head of Operations.

  • Serves as the GSOC's eyes and ears on the ground — providing local context that cannot be obtained remotely, including timely input for leadership briefs.

Project Support & Quality Assurance

  • Maintains working knowledge of company security standards and deployment practices.

  • Provides real-time support during security infrastructure deployments, reducing time zone delays.

  • Monitors project progress to ensure quality standards are met during build-out phases.
