Overview

East Penn is currently seeking a Security Manager who will be responsible for leading East Penn’s physical security, asset protection, security investigations, and emergency preparedness programs. This role protects employees, contractors, visitors, company assets, facilities, and operations by developing and maintaining effective security policies, risk-based controls, incident response practices, and contract security oversight.

The Security Manager works cross-functionally with Personnel, Environmental Health & Safety, Legal, operations leadership, and local law enforcement to maintain a safe, secure, and resilient workplace while supporting uninterrupted business operations.

This position’s primary location is based in our corporate offices in Lyon Station, PA with periodic travel to other sites.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of progressive physical security, asset protection, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
  • Five or more years of leadership experience in security operations or a related function.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
  • Experience managing contract security personnel and third-party security providers.
  • Experience conducting security investigations, preparing reports, preserving evidence, and coordinating corrective actions.
  • Experience developing emergency response plans and working with law enforcement, first responders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Training in professional interview and investigative techniques, such as Wicklander-Zulawski, Reid Institute, or equivalent, preferred.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent military, law enforcement, security leadership, or relevant operational experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • One or more of the following certifications is preferred:
  • ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)
  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute coursework or related emergency management training

Active certification, or the ability to obtain or renew certification within 180 days upon appointment is required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of physical security principles, asset protection practices, security investigations, access control, CCTV, incident response, and emergency preparedness.
  • Ability to lead through influence, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with employees, leaders, vendors, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, confidentiality, and objectivity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity and experience working with VDA ISA Physical Security Requirements
