Job Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Security Manager to provide senior-level security management support for classified government and defense programs. The selected candidate will oversee and manage security operations, personnel security, physical security, information security, and program security compliance activities supporting mission-critical operations and secure facilities.

This Security Manager role will also manage security programs and processes related to classified and sensitive information, including classification management, personnel security clearances, access control, foreign visitor coordination, and compliance with federal laws, regulations, and security directives. Responsibilities include overseeing the proper classification, handling, storage, transmission, and destruction of sensitive materials, as well as conducting security briefings, debriefings, and supporting special access or restricted programs.

This position will serve as a key security advisor to program leadership and government customers while ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations, DoD policies, Intelligence Community directives, and corporate security procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, communication, and risk management skills with experience supporting secure and classified operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily security operations supporting classified government and defense programs and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security policies, procedures, regulations, and directives including DoD, NISPOM, ICD, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Oversee personnel security activities including clearance processing, visit requests, indoctrinations, debriefings, and access management.
  • Manage physical security, access control, secure facility operations, classified material handling, and security incident response activities.
  • Support information security and classified systems protection activities in coordination with cybersecurity and IT personnel.
  • Conduct security inspections, self-assessments, audits, and compliance reviews while implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation, standard operating procedures, emergency action plans, and program security plans.
  • Provide security education, awareness training, and guidance to program personnel, subcontractors, and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate with government security representatives, program managers, facility personnel, and operational teams to support mission requirements.
  • Prepare reports, risk assessments, incident documentation, and executive briefings related to program security operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal government classified programs and secure facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM, ICD standards, classified material handling, personnel security, physical security, and facility security operations.
  • Experience managing security compliance programs, inspections, incident response, and customer security requirements.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving as a Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), or Special Security Officer (SSO).
  • Knowledge of ICD 705 requirements, SCIF operations, TEMPEST, and classified systems protection requirements.
  • Experience supporting SAP, SCI, or other compartmented security programs.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, ISP, SFPC, Security+, or related security certifications.
  • Strong leadership experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and multi-site security operations.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
