Job Description

Job Title: Security Manager

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Reports to: CFO Mexico

Matrix reporting:Reports functionally to Regional Security Manager (Swiss Markets)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

As a security Manager you will be in chrage of define, implement, and oversee the company’s comprehensive asset protection strategy, ensuring the safety of facilities, employees, products, and transportation processes, including import/export and customs. The Security Manager safeguards business continuity through risk prevention, control, incident investigation, and the reinforcement of a security-driven culture, while ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Protection

  • Design and execute the corporate asset protection strategy, addressing internal and external risks that may impact the company’s physical, financial, and reputational assets.
  • Establish policies, procedures, and performance metrics to prevent theft, fraud, sabotage, or information leakage.
  • Lead internal investigations of security incidents, ensuring documentation, traceability, and compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Audit to guarantee alignment with local and international regulations.

Facility Security

  • Ensure the protection of corporate offices, distribution centers, retail stores, warehouses, and other facilities.
  • Supervise CCTV systems, alarms, access control, electronic patrols, perimeter barriers, and evacuation protocols.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments of critical infrastructure and coordinate security technology improvement projects.
  • Develop business continuity and resilience plans for emergencies (fires, natural disasters, sabotage, external threats).

Employee Security

  • Develop and implement protection and crisis response protocols for employees (threats, workplace violence, harassment, kidnapping, or high-risk travel).
  • Deliver continuous training programs on personal security, crisis management, and prevention culture.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and Occupational Health to manage sensitive cases while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Oversee security protocols for corporate events and travel involving key personnel.

Product and Transportation Security (including Customs)

  • Design and implement Loss Prevention programs to protect high-value products throughout the supply chain.
  • Define and monitor secure transport routes, coordinating with logistics providers, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with international supply chain security standards (CTPAT, BASC, OEA, ISO 28000).
  • Establish strict controls at critical points (loading, transit, customs clearance, final delivery) to minimize theft, tampering, or smuggling risks.
  • Investigate incidents of theft or loss during transit, coordinating with law enforcement and developing preventive countermeasures.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and develop internal security area and manage third-party providers, ensuring consistent service quality.
  • Administer the corporate security budget, optimizing costs while prioritizing high-impact initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with local authorities, law enforcement, customs entities, and international security organizations.
  • Represent the company in industry forums and committees related to corporate and supply chain security.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and security KPIs to the Executive Committee and Risk Board.

Cybersecurity & Information Protection

  • Collaborate with IT and Information Security to align physical and cybersecurity strategies, ensuring comprehensive asset protection.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to security systems and digital infrastructure (e.g., access control, CCTV, connected devices).
  • Support the implementation of information security policies and participate in the management of cyber-related incidents.

Security Awareness, Training & Culture

  • Design and implement a comprehensive security awareness program covering asset protection, personal safety, loss prevention, supply chain security, and cybersecurity.
  • Ensure all employees receive mandatory training tailored to their role and risk exposure (e.g., retail staff, logistics teams, corporate employees, leadership).
  • Develop specialized training for high-risk roles, including transport personnel, warehouse staff, and employees involved in international trade and customs operations.
  • Promote a strong security culture through continuous communication, campaigns, simulations, and drills (e.g., emergency response, crisis scenarios, phishing awareness).
  • Monitor training effectiveness through KPIs, audits, and assessments, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with corporate standards.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in security, Business Administration, International Trade, Law, or related fields.
  • Certifications in Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Supply Chain Security (CTPAT, BASC, ASIS CPP, OEA, ISO 28000) strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of local experience (Mexico) in corporate, asset, or supply chain security, ideally within multinational companies in retail, luxury, FMCG, or international trade.
  • Proven track record in security policy design, loss prevention, transportation, and customs security.
  • Expertise in crisis management, business continuity, and organizational resilience.
  • Strong experience liaising with authorities and leading sensitive internal investigations.
  • Strategic Vision: ability to anticipate risks and design comprehensive security plans.
  • Leadership: effective management of internal and external security stakeholders in complex, multicultural environments.
  • Decision-Making Under Pressure: strong capability to react and resolve crises promptly.
  • Negotiation & Stakeholder Engagement: adept at working with authorities, customs, logistics providers, and law enforcement.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: ethical management of sensitive information and high-risk situations.
  • Fluency in Spanish & English mandatory. French is a plus.
