Security Guard

Position Spotlight:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Part-time position, Monday–Friday, 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., with a rotating Saturday schedule from 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

About the role

In this role, you will be based in our Americas head office in Lone Tree, CO providing security services for our Lone Tree corporate office building and/or Fulton Warehouse in Centennial.

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment for employees, visitors, contractors, and company assets at our Lone Tree corporate office building and/or Fulton Warehouse. This role includes monitoring building access, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, supporting emergency procedures, and providing excellent customer service while representing Cochlear Americas in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Building & Facility Security

  • Monitor and control access to the corporate office building, warehouse, parking areas, and restricted spaces.
  • Verify identification and issue visitor badges according to company procedures.
  • Conduct regular patrols of all floors, stairwells, lobby areas, parking facilities, and exterior grounds.
  • Inspect doors, alarms, cameras, and access control systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or security breaches.

Surveillance & Monitoring

  • Monitor CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and daily security reports.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.

Emergency Response

  • Assist with evacuation procedures during emergencies, including fire alarms and medical incidents.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Provide basic first aid or CPR if certified and required.

Customer Service & Professional Presence

  • Greet employees and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide directions and assistance to guests and vendors.
  • Enforce company policies and security procedures respectfully and consistently.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support workplace safety initiatives and corporate compliance standards.
  • Ensure confidential information and sensitive areas remain protected.
  • Participate in security drills, training sessions, and ongoing safety programs.


Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security experience preferred.
  • Valid state security license or ability to obtain one.
  • Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and monitoring systems.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a multi-level facility.
  • Ability to climb stairs and conduct continuous patrols.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

Total Rewards

  • Pay Range in the United States: $20.00 - $25.00 based upon experience, as well as an annual bonus opportunity of 5% of base salary. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
