We are looking for an exceptional and customer focused Security Guard to join our Security Team, supporting a prominent telecommunications and technology client located in Markham, ON. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in corporate security, with a solid foundation in identity and access management, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Please note: To be considered for this position, candidates must be eligible for reliability clearance through the Government of Canada.

Locations: Markham, ON

Shift Time: Saturday and Sunday, 00:00 - 12:00 (24 hours)

Payrate: $18.40/hour

Parking available on-site

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform access control provision duties, verify visitor badges and employee badges.
  • Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
  • Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons.
  • Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
  • Perform foot patrols inside the building on multiple floors.
  • Tech savvy, working on multiple systems.
  • Assist client employees with inquiries
  • Write, review and document Shift Activity Report (SAR).
  • Follow proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Security Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of security experience, preferably in a corporate or concierge environment
  • Eligibility for reliability clearances through the Government of Canada requires 5 years of residency or able to provide a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from within the last year
  • Hands-on experience with access control systems and CCTV surveillance
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and deliver outstanding customer service
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts based on business needs
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional setting

  • Access to a personal vehicle and the ability to travel to client locations in Etobicoke and East York are strongly preferred
