INTRODUCTION

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaireto join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
• Guards are responsible for lowering and raising gate arms between 2100hrs to 0600hrs daily.
• Peak Period ID Checks are completed randomly
• Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
• Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
• Maintain effective communication
• Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
• Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma
• * MUST*Ontario Security Guard License
• * MUST*Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  
• * MUST*Have the ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (resident in Canada 10 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history)
• Security Clearance Requirement: Reliable upgradeable to Secret
  
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to drag a 30kg barrier, 5m distance

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

• Start Date: Immediately
• Job type: Full-Time
• Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.82 per hour
• Hours of work: 12hr shift during the week and weekends 1800hrs to 0600hrs
• Location: CFB Borden Gates (South Gate, Alliston; West Gate, Lisle, North Gate, Angus)
