Job Description

STARTING RATE: $25.00 (Graveyard)

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: State of Nevada Gaming Permit, Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Driver’s License, D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old), and CPR/AED Certification (provided by the Company).

The Security Lieutenant will perform all Job Summary tasks described in the “Security Officer” description in a professional and consistent manner. Additionally, he/she will supervise all Security Dept. members on staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience with Mesquite Gaming Security required. Must have completed Mesquite Gaming Management Training. Must possess basic math, computer, and grammar skills. Must be able to deal with various personality traits, maintain self control under stressful situations and continue to conduct oneself in a professional manner during these interactions. Must be flexible and excel at problem solving with both guests and fellow employees. Must be able to investigate incidents and prepare accurate written reports. Must have leadership skills and be able to motivate others. Must possess integrity and the basic desire to serve and protect. Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess knowledge and understanding of Nevada State Gaming Control Board Regulations, Security Dept. Policies and Procedures, and Mesquite Gaming Policies and Guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Ensure that all Department Regulations, Company Policies, & Procedures are followed.

• Review reports and other written materials prepared by staff members for proper content, accuracy, and thoroughness, making corrections and improvements as needed.

• Coach and mentor staff members to help achieve an understanding of the Security Department’s role and function. Prepare performance evaluations and counsel sessions as needed.

• Make sound decisions under stressful conditions and in short time frames with available information given.

• Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing and walking on uneven surfaces, lifting moderately heavy objects. The work may require above average strength, agility, and dexterity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions, i.e., extreme outdoor weather conditions, under threat of a physical attack by another person, mob condition, or in similar situations in which conditions cannot be completely controlled. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino.
