Main purpose of role &responsibilitiesin the business:

As aSecurity Controllerin Kainos, you will play a lead rolein ensuringcustomer projects are delivered incompliance with Kainos,customer’sand industrybest practicesforphysical &personnelsecurity

You will workacross the business, with both our central teams anddelivery teams Using your deep experience of security practices, you willactively supportthe engagement withKainosstakeholders, gaining their buy-into implement securitypolicies and procedures You will act as arole model andleaderfor securityin Kainos, owning the delivery ofsecurityinitiatives

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working to co-create, develop, andthenmanagesecurity policies, procedures, and protocols

  • Creating andmaintaininga security culture that aligns with Kainos’values.

  • Communicatingcurrent and relevantsecurity threats and actionsto employees and partners

  • Conducting regular security audits and risk assessments toidentifyvulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions

  • ManageAftercareActivities such as Change of Circumstances(CoC), Overseas Travel Briefings and Aftercare Incident Reports (AIR)

  • Maintainingour compliance withgovernment security schemes, such as IPSA (Industry Personnel Security Assessment) andFSC (Facility Security Clearance).

  • Working with Delivery Teams, People Support and Line Managers toidentifyand implement any security lessons learnt.

  • Manage customer security checks and onboarding requirements to ensure staff canjoin projects quicklywhileremainingcompliant.

  • Facilitate where necessary visits and inspections by individualsrepresentingeither the Government or Contracting Authority and to ensure any relevant documentation, process or records are available for inspection.

Minimum (essential) requirements

  • Current holder of UK security clearance

  • Deep experience of HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes

  • Experiencecreating &implementingphysical andpersonnelsecurity policies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise work asrequired

  • Experience coaching and mentoringin securitybest practices

  • Experiencein implementingthreat & risk managementprocesses

Desirable:

  • Experience working with a Digital organisation in MOD,Defenceor National Security

  • Previousexperienceas a Security Officeror Security Controller.

  • Experience working on client site day-to-day

  • Active participant in communities of interest (e.g. online groups, speaking at conferences etc.) 

  • Experience working within a Project Management Office
