Main purpose of the position:

The Security Automation & AI Engineer will serve as the technical lead for security process automation and AI-driven transformation initiatives within the Information Security function. The role is responsible for identifying, designing, implementing and continuously improving automation solutions that increase operational efficiency, strengthen governance processes and improve the quality and consistency of security services delivered to internal and external stakeholders.

A key focus of the position is the development of AI-enabled solutions that support audit responses, customer security questionnaires, evidence collection, control assessments, risk reporting and compliance activities. The role will leverage Microsoft technologies including Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 and Azure services, while integrating with enterprise platforms such as Jira, GRC solutions, knowledge repositories and security management tools.

The successful candidate will act as an independent subject matter expert who can translate complex business and security requirements into scalable technical solutions. Working closely with Security Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Operations and Engineering teams, this person will help establish a modern automation capability, improve data quality across security processes and drive the adoption of AI and automation across the organisation.

What you’ll do:

  • Identify, analyse and prioritise security, governance, risk and compliance processes suitable for automation and AI enablement.
  • Design, build and maintain automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Platform and Azure services.
  • Develop AI-assisted workflows to support customer security questionnaires, audit requests, control assessments and compliance reporting activities.
  • Design and implement integrations between Jira, GRC platforms, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Confluence, security tools and other enterprise systems.
  • Build and maintain APIs, connectors and data pipelines to enable automated information exchange across platforms.
  • Automate evidence collection, control monitoring, workflow approvals, notifications and reporting processes.
  • Develop dashboards and management reporting capabilities to measure operational efficiency, control effectiveness and automation benefits.
  • Ensure appropriate security, privacy, governance and quality controls are embedded into all AI and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to increase productivity and improve security operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to security teams on automation and AI best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, auditors, technology teams and vendors to deliver automation initiatives from concept through production deployment.
  • Own the continuous improvement, support and optimisation of deployed automation and AI solutions.

Key qualifications:

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Security Automation, Software Engineering, AI Engineering, DevSecOps, Security Operations or related technology roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Power Automate and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Strong experience in integrating enterprise platforms through APIs, webhooks and modern integration technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell scripting for automation and orchestration.
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, compliance and audit processes.
  • Experience working with enterprise workflow platforms such as Jira and integrating them with other business or security systems.
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources, knowledge repositories and document management platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Functions, Logic Apps or Microsoft Graph.
  • Experience implementing or integrating GRC platforms, risk management solutions or compliance management tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST CSF, NIS2, DORA and related security or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, vector databases and enterprise AI governance.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Dataverse and data analytics platforms.
  • Microsoft, Azure, Security or AI-related professional certifications.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and experience working in international enterprise environments.
