The Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) is seeking a motivated Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure Security team.

This role is ideal for Linux Administrators with 1–3 years of hands-on experiencewho are passionate about cybersecurity and looking to build a career in Infrastructure Security.

As part of the Infrastructure Security team, you will support the administration, maintenance, and operation of the critical security platforms that protect the Qualys production environment. Working alongside senior engineers, you will gain hands-on experience with enterprise technologies including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Secrets Management, Secure Remote Access, and Infrastructure Automation while building a strong foundation in enterprise Infrastructure Security.

Key Responsibilities:

Linux Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer and maintain Linux servers supporting Infrastructure Security platforms.
  • Perform operating system installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Perform Linux operating system hardening following enterprise security standards.
  • Manage users, groups, permissions, storage, networking, and system services.
  • Troubleshoot Linux operating system, application, and infrastructure issues.
  • Maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical runbooks.

Infrastructure Security Platforms

  • Support the administration and maintenance of Identity & Access Management (IAM) platforms.
  • Assist in managing LDAP/LDAPS authentication services.
  • Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services and certificate lifecycle management.
  • Assist in managing Privileged Access Management (PAM) platforms.
  • Support Secrets Management platforms and secure credential management.
  • Assist in managing secure remote access platforms such as Teleport.
  • Perform routine health checks, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities for Infrastructure Security platforms.

Automation

  • Develop automation scripts using Bash and Python.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
  • Automate routine operational and administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation.

Production Operations

  • Participate in day-to-day production support activities.
  • Monitor Infrastructure Security services to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and restore services within defined SLAs.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and implement corrective actions.
  • Support planned maintenance windows, upgrades, and platform lifecycle activities.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation after completing required training.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with senior Infrastructure Security engineers on operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Cloud Operations, DevOps, and Platform teams.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, deployment guides, and technical runbooks.
  • Follow established security standards, operational procedures, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on Linux Administration experiencesupporting enterprise production environments.
  • Experience administering Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, or CentOS.
  • Good understanding of Linux system administration, including user and group management, package management, storage management, networking, system services, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience performing Linux patching, upgrades, and operating system hardening.
  • Basic scripting experience using Bash and/or Python.
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, SSH, SSL/TLS, and Linux security fundamentals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn enterprise Infrastructure Security technologies.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation after completing training.

As part of the Infrastructure Security team, you will contribute to strategic initiatives including:

  • Supporting enterprise Linux infrastructure for critical security platforms.
  • Managing and maintaining Infrastructure Security services across production environments.
  • Learning and supporting enterprise technologies including IAM, PKI, PAM, Secrets Management, Secure Remote Access, and Certificate Management.
  • Building automation to improve operational efficiency and platform reliability.
  • Supporting production operations, platform upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Working alongside senior engineers on enterprise Infrastructure Security initiatives.
  • Developing the technical expertise required to progress into a Senior Security Engineer within the Infrastructure Security team.
