As a Data Scientist / LLM Developer (Associate) within the Securities Services Global Initiatives Team, you will play a pivotal role in driving measurable outcomes across global projects. You will leverage your expertise in exploratory analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI/Agentic AI solutions, exclusively utilising JPMorganChase-approved platforms, tools, and governance controls. This role is ideal for strategic thinkers passionate about data science and LLM development, committed to delivering innovative solutions within a robust security and compliance framework.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends and patterns, effectively communicating insights through data storytelling.
  • Identify and improve critical data sources, collaborating with upstream teams to enhance data quality and lineage.
  • Work closely with product owners and initiative leads to define project scope, set priorities, and coordinate delivery across Operations, Technology, Product, and Controls.
  • Design and build data mining queries for large structured and unstructured datasets, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence.
  • Develop, tune, and evaluate machine learning models, documenting assumptions and results, and conducting error analysis.
  • Create dashboards and analytics products using firm-approved BI/analytics tools, tailored for stakeholder needs.
  • Architect GenAI and Agentic AI solutions in alignment with JPMorganChase’s shared responsibility and control expectations.
  • Lead controlled R&D/prototyping activities and transition validated solutions to production with engineering partners.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with firm security, data handling, and AI governance requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities & skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in data-related projects, including at least 1 year in Data Science/AI (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field (other fields considered with significant analytics/BI experience).
  • Strong background in Statistics, including exploratory and regression analysis.
  • Proficiency in LLM solution concepts (e.g., embeddings, vectorisation, vector stores, retrieval patterns such as RAG, evaluation metrics), implemented using JPMorganChase-approved tooling/platforms.
  • Hands-on skills in Python and SQL for analytics and model development.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities & skills

  • Experience with SQL on enterprise data platforms and Python libraries within the firm’s approved stack.
  • Exposure to complex ETL development and data pipeline patterns.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and production delivery practices.

Certification / Training Requirements (Associate | Mumbai)

  • Alteryx : Alteryx Designer Core Certification (or equivalent firm-recognised credential).
  • Tableau: Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Desktop Certified Associate.
  • Fusion GenAI / Agentic AI training: Completion of firm-approved Fusion GenAI training (e.g., “Generative AI – Amazon Bedrock” and “Agentic AI – Introduction to Agentic Systems”), aligned to the Fusion AI lifecycle platform. Must be obtained within the first 6 months if not already held.
