The IT-TI Data & App Support department is looking for a Secure Environment System support engineer. This candidate will be part of the Data and Application Support team, which is responsible for deploying all in-house developed applications running in Acceptance & Production, and which manages some core shared applications and middleware to support those applications (like Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, …).
More and more applications are being deployed on Linux servers, and as such the team needs to expand his knowledge to both Windows and Linux deployment.
For the newly constructed secure environment “NM10”, we need someone accustomed to work within secure environments, and with knowledge of authentication and authorization procedures.
We are looking for a medior-to-senior profile, eager to learn, and able to learn quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist on day-to-day operational tasks like deploy and update all in-house developed applications in acceptance & production environments (mostly Windows IIS & SQL based).
• Assist on application server architecture for deployment of new applications: analyse requirements, assist on the design, and setup/deploy the application in acceptance and production environments.
• Work with Active Directory, secret servers and identity providers, preferably ADFS 2019 or later to create or adapt user authentication and authorization requirements.
• Interface with (mainly IT) clients.
• Second-line troubleshooting of issues.
• Configuration of F5 load balancing VIPs for web applications.
• Supporting implementations on core applications: RabbitMQ, Redis Cache and other shared technologies – knowledge of these products is a nice to have.
• Ensure optimal 2nd/3rd level (interface to Microsoft and other 3rd parties) support.
• Keep operating and installation documentation for the above areas up to date.
• Be part of the duty role (24/7, 1 in 6 weeks) in this team.

Your Profile

Technical Skills:

• Proven recent experience in supporting Applications on Linux RedHat (deploy an application, verify logs, monitor health and performance of a system, create scripts).
• Proven recent expert experience with Windows Server (2012-2022) (>10 years).
• Proven knowledge of IIS management and web site deployments.
• Knowledge of PowerShell.
• Knowledge of MS-SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J or Redis Cache is a plus (on the job coaching/training as operator will be provided in missing knowledge).
• Understanding of firewalls and network load balancing concepts (product knowledge will be provided).
• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Non-technical Skills:

• Team player, but able to work independently.
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting work.
• Pragmatic mindset and customer minded.
• Must be able and eager to learn new products or technologies (if not all of the above technologies are known, it is expected to learn them within a year maximum);
• Must be natively French or Dutch speaking, able to speak and understand the other language – English mandatory for documents and international meetings, German is a plus.
• For the Duty, you must have a driver’s license and a mobile phone.
