You are responsible for the delivery, administration, monitoring and continuous improvement of Transit Services training programs supporting technical fleet maintenance functions.
Within your assigned area of responsibility, you provide leadership to instructors, work management coordinators, apprentices, mentors, and other training personnel, while ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory, and corporate standards.
You are accountable for training delivery, program performance, resource optimization, risk management, workforce development, and continuous improvement, and provide advice and recommendations to management to support safe, efficient, and effective transit service delivery.
You also manage the section’s human and financial resources, and partner relationships.
Completion of 3 year College Diploma or University Degree in Education, Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related field, including courses towards a certificate in Training or Adult Education.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of training or adult education, in an operational environment. Experience in transit is considered an asset.
Experience should include 2 years of leadership experience in a unionized or regulated environment.
*Section specific training and/or certification requirements are required for the assigned area including: 310 (B, S or T) journeyperson certification or Must complete City training and obtain Ontario unrestricted “CZ” class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) within the timeframe determined by the employer, in order to operate a City of Ottawa bus)
