The Opportunity

The Section Manager, Fixed Assets, is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of fixed asset accounting and management for Allegro MicroSystems' global operations. This role will lead a team to ensure the accurate tracking, valuation, depreciation, and disposal of all capital assets in compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies. The Section Manager will drive process improvements, maintain a strong internal control environment, and provide critical financial data to support strategic capital investment and operational decisions

What You Will Do

  • Capital Budget Planning and Expenditure Forecast
  • Maintain and update the list of AML and AMPI-funded approved projects
  • Monitors acquisition of capital assets
  • Perform Fixed Asset Closing Procedures in Oracle
  • Prepares Fixed Asset Schedules
  • Performs Asset Impairment Review
  • Reviews Fixed Asset Narratives and FA Policies and Procedures
  • Coordinate with the other departments on work requiring complementary efforts.
  • Formulates and recommends improvements to the fixed asset system, procedures, and internal control.
  • Oversee recording, classification, and capitalization of fixed assets
  • Ensure accurate depreciation calculations and asset life management
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reconciliations
  • Manage asset additions, transfers, impairments, and disposals
  • Supervise physical inventory counts and asset verification processes
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Train and supervise fixed asset accounting staff
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience in Fixed Assets management/accounting
    • At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role is highly desirable.
    • Experience in a global, publicly traded manufacturing or technology company is essential.
    • Experience in the semiconductor industry is a strong plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of US GAAP principles related to fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, impairment, and disposals.
    • Expert proficiency with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and their fixed asset modules.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
    • Strong understanding of internal controls (SOX) in a public company environment.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives like physical inventories and process improvements.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
