Job Description

Takes and transcribes technical and confidential dictation requiring a high degree of accuracy.

Composes correspondence and other material requiring knowledge of the legal procedures and department policies.

Arranges conferences.

Maintains legal and confidential files and dockets of the department.

Disposes of office details not requiring official actions.

Prepares subpoenas, writs, and legal documents.

Compiles data from case and textbook authorities for preparation of opinions and briefs.

Examines files involving any matter referred to the department and prepares briefs thereon.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university or above the high school diploma or equivalent (GED), related experience may be substituted on an equal basis for education and related education may be substituted on an equal basis for experience.

Basic computer knowledge with ability to type from plain copy and transcribe from voice recording.

Terms of Employment

This is a non-exempt position.

This is an At-Will employment position.
