Keeping Honolulu safe takes a team! Both on the streets and behind the scenes. The Honolulu Police Department, Central Patrol Bureau Division, oversees patrol districts in Central Honolulu, Kalihi, Waikiki, and East Honolulu, along with the Central Receiving Division. The Assistant Chief manages programs, oversees subordinates, and addresses complaints, reports, and meetings involving public safety. Your job will be to help keep the Assistant Chief's work running smoothly by organizing, reviewing, and distributing a variety of letters, memoranda, confidential investigative or evaluative reports, and departmental and divisional reports. You will also filter and transfer calls, inquiries, and complaints that come through the office. Help keep things on track by routing correspondence and inquiries to the appropriate personnel, following up on outstanding tasks, and keeping the Assistant Chief informed of matters requiring immediate attention.

Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Four (4) years of secretarial, stenographic or substantive clerical experience.
